How we check facts

Sources we use

1. Official pages of rinks, clubs, academies, the Emirates Hockey League and the UAE Winter Sports Federation.
2. The IIHF and established news outlets (Khaleej Times, Gulf News, Aletihad, Gulf Today) for events, decisions and dates.
3. Elite Prospects for league standings, shown as a dated snapshot.
4. Third-party listings (Kidzapp, Bayut, Property Finder) only to show how prices and status claims differ, labelled as such.

Status labels

• Open: the operator's own page or a current official listing shows it running.
• Closed: reported closed by a named source.
• Announced: an opening has been announced but we have not confirmed it is open.
• Unconfirmed: only old or third-party sources, so we can't say either way.

Every label carries an "as of" date and its source.

Prices

We show the price the provider publishes, the date range it says it covers, and the date we saw it. Reseller prices are labelled as resellers'. Where nothing is published, we say "Not published".

What we won't do

• Rate, rank or recommend clubs, academies or rinks.
• Imply that we speak for any rink, club, league or federation.
• Publish names, photos or rosters of children.
• Publish invented quotes, reviews or "parent stories".
• Give medical advice. After any head knock, see a doctor.

Corrections

If something is wrong or out of date, tell us with a source. We check it, fix confirmed errors, and log status and price changes in the directory's "What changed" list.
