A public session at Dubai Ice Rink in The Dubai Mall costs AED 100, AED 125 or AED 140 between 19 and 31 October 2026, depending on the day and time, according to the rink's own ticket information page checked on 23 October 2026. That buys 90 minutes on the ice with hire skates and socks included. Emaar's attraction page still shows an older AED 130 day and AED 150 evening, and reseller sites differ again, so check the rink's ticket page for your date.

One thing to watch: Emaar's attraction page still lists AED 130 day and AED 150 evening, with a "from AED 90" label at the top. The rink's dated table is the more specific source, and its prices change by date range. After 31 October 2026, expect a new table.

Why do other websites show different prices?

Ticket resellers, kids' activity directories and property blogs all list Dubai Ice Rink, and their numbers do not agree. Most do not say when the price was last checked. Here is what we saw on 23 October 2026:

Source Price shown Date on page
Dubai Ice Rink ticket page (official) AED 100 / 125 / 140 Table for 19–31 Oct 2026, checked 23 Oct 2026
Emaar attraction page (official) AED 130 day / AED 150 evening No date range, checked 23 Oct 2026
Kidzapp AED 110 per session No date
Property Finder blog AED 120 day / AED 145 evening Modified 9 Dec 2025

Bayut rinks list From AED 85 off-season / AED 110 peak No date
Bayut Dubai Mall rink page AED 130 day / AED 150 evening No date

The older figures may have been correct when written. Prices at the rink have clearly moved over the past two years. If a reseller price looks cheaper, check what it includes and whether it is valid for your date.

What is included in the ticket?

Emaar says admission includes hire skates and socks. Kidzapp adds that locker hire is included, but Emaar's page does not say so, so ask at the desk.

The rink's own website says it keeps more than 2,000 pairs of hire skates in children's and adult sizes. Its add-ons table lists VIP hockey skates at AED 45 on top of admission (19 to 31 October 2026). If you want hockey skates rather than figure skates, add them when you book or ask when you arrive.

Not included: gloves (AED 10), helmet hire (AED 15) and skating aids such as the penguin, snowman and seal frames (AED 45 each), per the rink's add-ons table for 19 to 31 October 2026.

What are the rules at Dubai Ice Rink?

From Emaar's page, checked 23 October 2026:

  • Helmets are recommended, and the page advises hiring one. It does not say they are compulsory.
  • Children under 120 cm must be with an adult at all times. Children over 120 cm may skate alone. The rink's ticket page words this as children "100cm above and below 120cm", which is ambiguous, so ask about smaller children.
  • Starting age: Emaar says 4 is the ideal age to start skating.
  • On the ice: skate anti-clockwise, enter and leave only through the gate, no horseplay, no food or drink, no bags, no selfie sticks and no long or trailing clothing.

For hockey players the main point is this: the public session rules do not mention sticks or pucks at all. We found no page that allows them during public skating. Assume they are not allowed and ask the rink first.

What time is Dubai Ice Rink open?

The rink's About Us page says it is open daily from 10:00 to 23:45. Emaar's attraction page did not show hours when we checked. Session times change for school holidays, events and private hire, so check the booking page for your day.

The rink sits on the ground floor of The Dubai Mall, next to The Souk and the Waterfall Atrium, below the cinema.

Can you play ice hockey at Dubai Ice Rink?

Yes, but not in a public session. The rink's website says it hosts ice hockey games and practices. There are three main routes.

Hockey Academy (children). Emaar's Hockey Academy page lists a six-week term from 12 October to 18 November, on Mondays and Wednesdays. The year is not printed, but the weekdays match 2026. It is for ages 6 to 18. Beginners skate 17:00 to 17:45 and the amateur group 17:45 to 18:30. The page says it teaches hockey skating technique only, with no hard pucks. The price is AED 699 for one class a week or AED 1,200 for two. Emaar says no refunds are issued and missed classes cannot be made up. Contact: [email protected] or 04 448 5111. See our kids' ice hockey guide for other options.

Ice rental for teams. Bayut's undated Dubai Mall rink page says hockey teams and schools can rent the ice through the same academy email. No rental price is published.

Watching games. Wikipedia lists the Dubai Mall rink as home of the Dubai Mighty Camels. Gulf Today reported in November 2024 that Emirates Hockey League games in 2024-25 were played at the Dubai Mall rink, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi, on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights at 20:30, with free admission. That is 2024-25 information. We have not seen a 2026-27 fixture list, so check before you travel.

Adults looking for a game should read our adult ice hockey guide.

Worked example: a family visit

Two adults and two children, one under 120 cm, skating on a Saturday evening (DJ Nights), with one parent watching instead of skating:

Item Calculation Total
DJ Nights admission 3 skaters (1 adult, 2 children) x AED 140 AED 420
Spectator First spectator per group free AED 0
Helmets for the children 2 x AED 15 AED 30
Gloves 3 x AED 10 AED 30
Total AED 480

This uses the rink's published table for 19 to 31 October 2026. The same visit on a Monday morning would cost AED 300 in admission instead of AED 420. The child under 120 cm needs an adult skating with them, so at least one adult must buy a skate ticket.

Is there cheaper ice nearby?

Other rinks publish different fares. Gulf News (July 2025) listed Sport Society Ice Arena in Mirdif at AED 120 day and AED 145 evening, and Galleria Ice Rink in Deira at AED 55 weekdays and AED 65 weekends. Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi lists AED 85 off-peak and AED 110 peak on its own page. These are older or third-party prices for Dubai rinks, so treat them as a starting point. Our UAE ice rinks list shows which rinks are open, closed or only announced.

What to check before you act

  • Open the rink's ticket information page and check which dated price table covers your visit.
  • Weekday mornings (Mon–Thu, 10:00 and 11:45 starts) were the cheapest slots in the 19–31 October 2026 table.
  • Hire a helmet for children, even though it is not compulsory.
  • Bring an adult on the ice for any child under 120 cm.
  • Do not bring a hockey stick or puck to a public session unless the rink says yes.
  • For the Hockey Academy, note the no-refund rule before paying.
